Lizzie’s Blog, Tomboy Style, is my daily dose of refreshing, cross-era fashion. In a time when many fashion blogs buzz with the latest Louboutin or it-girl shade of lipstick, Lizzie’s site instead focuses on classy inspirational images with a great eye for uncovering style mavens from a bygone era. Tomboy Style is comprised mostly of images from an assortment of decades (1920s-present), who all share a certain tomboyish taste. The images usually embody a can-do spirit of comfort and strength. The blog posts brighten my day and inform a lot of my own fashion decisions. TomBoy Style also features contemporary ladies who embody this sensibility. The images are always seamlessly put together, with great captions and superb interviews. The wonderful news is that Tomboy Style will be transformed into book form in Spring of next year. Hooray!

About this breakfast Lizzie says:

My high school friend Carolina Santos-Neves, who is now works for Epicurious, turned me onto this recently. I am an avocado freak (thankfully I live in Los Angeles where I can indulge all year), and this is so easy and quick that it fast became in heavy rotation in my house. She grew up in Brazil eating these, and actually has a recipe demo on YouTube for it, and it just a great, fast (and pretty healthy) breakfast.

This breakfast is one of the best things to have recently graced my breakfast table. It’s so light, yet indulgent — full of great, healthy fats and decadence, yet exotic and refined as well. It even freezes well, so if you want to double the batch and eat some the next day, swirled into a cup of yogurt or another smoothie perhaps, it’s easy to do so. I topped my own version with a little crushed almond, instead of the suggested granola, only because I am a granola monster and have put a temporary embargo on the addictive stuff. I cannot recommend this easy, dreamy recipe enough. It’s absolutely marvelous any time of day and will wow guests as an easy dinner party dessert as well. I raise my glass of avocado pudding to you, Lizzie!
