Seasonal Treat: Holiday Blend Coffees

2008_12_15-HolidayCoffee.jpgCall us suckers for seasonal marketing ploys, but darn it, we love holiday blend coffees! As soon as we spot it in our favorite coffee shop, we start stockpiling enough roasted beans to last us through the end of winter. Are you a fellow fan of these seasonal blends?

The coffee pictured above comes from one of our favorite New England local roasters (and ice cream shops!) JP Licks. We certainly don't have the palates of true coffee connoisseurs, but
to us, this coffee is smooth and balanced. It has a deep coffee flavor with hints of caramel and vanilla. On the wintry mix mornings like we've been having, there's nothing better.

This may surprise you, but we also really enjoy the Starbucks holiday blend. While we think many Starbucks coffees go overboard on the "dark roast" quality, this one walks that line perfectly. It is also very smooth and has a warm spicy quality that we really enjoy.

Do you have a favorite holiday blend of coffee beans?

The "Wintry Blend" from Trader Joe's is the best ever! The coffee has some spices in it, like clove and peppercorns. Its kinda like drinking coffee with a subtle chai flavor. It is so good.
