apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Recipe: KatrinaAde

The ginger adds a little bite that we know some of our friends down South would like.

KatrinaAde
makes 1 gallon

2 quarts water
1 cup sliced ginger (skins on for more color, skins off for less)
40-50 lemons, juiced (about 2 quarts)
3/4 cup honey

Bring 2 cups of the water and ginger slices to a boil. Lower heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in honey. Remove from heat.

In a large container such as a stockpot or lemonade jar, combine remaining water, juiced lemons and ginger honey mixture.

Allow to cool, and taste for sweetness. Adjust with more lemons or more honey accordingly.

Serve with sprigs of mint, slices of lemon and/or ice.
