Too Cute: Wood Animal Bottle Openers from Roost

When it comes to our kitchen, there are the practical, work-horse items, and then there are the whimsical ones. When we saw these carved wood bottle openers at Velocity Art and Design, we thought whimsical. And they're not too expensive, either.

Certainly bottle openers fall into the quirky category of kitchen accessories. (Think of all the ones that play music.) But these would look beautiful sitting out on a countertop or at a party. They've got little brass "mouths" that make them durable and effective.

The elephant and bull are slightly more expensive than the rest, but all of them are under $25. What a great gift for a beer lover- or yourself, for that matter. Maybe to pop open one of our favorite Japanese beers or a lambic?
