Kitchen Color Inspiration: Hitachino Beer
From AT:SF

2008_09_24-hitachino.jpgWe saw this post from Lily at AT:San Francisco a couple of days ago, and we loved it for two reasons. One, Hitachino Nest is a really good beer that we just discovered...

We drank this beer for the first time last weekend, and it was delicious. Since we kept forgetting the name, we just reordered "that yummy, fruity, Japanese beer" again and again. For the record, it's a Belgian-style white ale.

The second reason we loved the post was because Lily zeroed in on the look and colors of the label as inspiration for designing a kitchen. And we, too, commented to several friends on the coolness of the label while drinking Hitachino Nest.

So, lessons learned: This is a good beer you may want to try. And you should take a look at the kitchen shots Lily rounded up, influenced by the cute blue and red label.

I love this beer! I only wish I could find it in more stores, bars, and restaurants.

My favorite beer ever. Hefty price tag, though. Check out Japanese and sushi bars for best luck and speciality liqour stores. I have yet to find a BevMo that carries it, FYI. Whole Foods in SF downtown does, but, again, it's way expensive.

Don't miss their red rice ale or sweet lacto stout either! Great stuff.

I first had this at Sudachi on Post Street, which is a great place for japanese style appetizers and sushi and a fun time. White Owl is now the nickname of my brother, after he chose this beer (for the aesthetics of the label).

I've seen this brand of beer at 2 BevMos in San Diego. Some of the Cost Plus World Markets that have an extensive beer collection have it too.

In Chicago, they have it at the Chopping Block. Definitely worth checking out.
