Hot or Not? Wilton Combo Cookie and Brownie Cutters

2009_08_05-Combo02.jpgWe just spied these combo cutters at a craft store, and we're curious what you think. They are ostensibly for cutting shaped pieces out of brownies with a minimum of waste scraps, but we also think they would be great for getting more cookies out of our cookie dough. What do you think?

2009_08_05-Combo.jpgThey seem well-suited to a brownie pan, with their square corners; our sheets of rolled cookie dough tend to be more, um, ovoid. But still, if you're making a big batch of shortbread or sugar cookies, these might be a great time saving cookie cutter.

with the exception of the hearts, which are kind of cool if a little squished looking, I don't really get it. Rectangles? I can cut those with a knife...

We used the first one pictured (the three rounded rectangles) for cutting bread to toast and use for canapes for my wedding a few months ago.

When you are making several hundred of an item it really helps to save time and reduce waste!

Ooh, they're rectangular. They could be used as sandwich cutters, too... [Shhh... I pack my own lunch, and sandwiches cut into weird/awesome shapes = WIN]

I think they are pretty cool... I was going to add one to my current Amazon order, but they are going for $9 on there! Crazy.

They look like they'd be great for those sugar cookie bars that made the blog rounds a while back.

I use a similar item to cut my kids sandwiches, it cuts takes the crusts off and cuts the sandwiches into two dinosaur shapes. They love it.

Jamiealyse: My area Hobby Lobby stores carry these cutters, which means if you print a copy of the 40% off coupons they often have on their website, one of these cutters is only a couple dollars. I believe Michaels also has them, if you have either of these stores in your area.
