Copper Bowls for Your KitchenAid Stand Mixer
International Home and Housewares Show 2008

2008_03_20-CopperKitchenAid.jpgWant to dress up your KitchenAid a little? Maybe give it a little extra boost in whipping egg whites? Check out these copper bowls we saw at the Home and Housewares show...

We met David Black from French Copper Studio at the Housewares show, proudly displaying their wares at the KitchenAid booth. KitchenAid officially endorses this product - bowls custom-fit for each model of KitchenAid stand mixer.

These are definitely a luxury item; they usually retail for over $300 apiece. Right now they are on sale for $255-$265 each.

Copper helps egg whites beat stiffer and faster, and it's obviously a very beautiful and long-lasting material. Would you buy a copper bowl for your KitchenAid?

If it weren't over $100, I would!

I was just thinking about that mixer paddle with the fins yesterday as I was whipping up some banana bread. I wouldn't buy this bowl because my mixing needs don't call for it, but one of the reasons I think my Artisan was such a great investment is that third party companies make it infinitely customizable.

I recently saw this on David Lebovitz's blog http://www.davidlebovitz.com/archives/2008/02/5_kitchenaid_ha.html but was much more intrigued by the candy coating attachment--for a mere $700, I think--I told my parents if I had one I bet I could invent my own candy though!!

My mom suggested I get a bowl with a lid and shake away! Some of this mixer stuff is out of this world--I'm still waiting to get my ice cream attachment!
