Enjoying: Animal Cookie Cutters from IKEA

This is just a note to say that we are enjoying these cookie cutters. We blogged speculatively about them in our roundup of maybe-good-things from IKEA's new catalog and then we picked them up on our last trip. They're not essential or terribly important, but they are rather delightful.

As you can probably see, these aren't the most sturdy or expensively-built cookie cutters. They're simple stainless steel and need to be washed and dried carefully. But they're a nice break from the repeated stars, flowers, squares, and circles we usually find in the baking stores.

And of course the hedgehog is our favorite.

Yay! Going to IKEA today... definitely picking up these cookie cutters. Is that just a basic sugar cookie recipe you're using or something special? Is there one on the site? Hmmm I should start looking...

Oh my goodness! I need to get these! Also, I was at IKEA and picked up a vanilla sugar. I have yet to try it, but it seems like a fun baking find...

I wish this kind of thing were available for purchase online. The little things I'd like to buy from Ikea are never worth the 2-3 hour drive.

Lizzz, the Drommar pastry cutter set is available online. I wish I'd seen this article this morning, because I was AT Ikea this afternoon buying flowerpots. Drat.
