Weekend Deal Alert: KitchenAid Mixer for $109.99

2007_12_09-EalWe are trying to ignore the flood of holiday advertisements and enticements in our inbox, but this one grabbed us because it's a genuinely good deal - holiday or no.

Amazon's deal of the day is this KitchenAid Classic 250-watt 4-1/2-quart stand mixer in white. It's on sale for $109.99, with free shipping. That's down from $269.99, so you'd be saving about 60% on this classic kitchen appliance.

Even though these take up a lot of room, we have to say that we bake more now that we have one in the kitchen; it's been invaluable. The sale is only good through today.

Plus, this is the model that goes with that intriguing SideSwipe Spatula Mixer Blade from yesterday.

FYI- amazon is also selling the Kitchen Aid Artisan Series 5 Qt for $200 instead of the usual $350. (This price only applies to the white, black, or red models, as far as I can tell.) The artisan has a slighter more powerful motor than the one listed above, though I'm not sure how much that matters.

I ordered this, thanks to seeing your post but I'd like to point out that shipping is free ONLY if you sign up for their special program. And that program has an annual fee which makes it not worth it for those who don't do a lot of Amazon shopping.
And when did they start adding tax, for goodness sakes?

Sorry - don't mean to gripe. The $140 final price is still a very good deal.

I think tax depends on where you live. I didn't have to pay any tax when I ordered just now. As for the free shipping, you just have to select the super saver option, which is different than prime, their paid for shipping service. Unless that depends on location as well...I'm not sure.

any idea why I see only $169 mixers when I go to the link provided?? Is the deal over already??

Yes, the deal is over. The page says "sold out."

Thanks, Kyrielle, for your answer. The deal didn't appear to be eligible for Super Saver (which I've used in the past) but apparently I didn't look closely enough. As for the tax issue, this is from the Amazon help page:

Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax.

Well, there ya go. That's what I get for living in the great state of Kansas!

Even though that one's gone, there's a pretty fantastic deal on the Kitchenaid Pro 600-Series 6-Quart Mixer - $210 after a $50 mail-in rebate.

And if you do get any of these, either for yourself or for a loved one, I was astounded to find that people are hotrodding their mixers with these awesome decals. I just spent $200 on a mixer, but I'm still having a hard time convincing myself not to buy these!

Those flame decals are scary.

So sad I missed the deal! I wanted white too....guess I'll be making my dog biscuit dough by hand today. Sniff, sniff.

I got my 5 qt. KitchenAid Artisan in Empire Red for $199 -$30 mail in rebate from amazon.com in August.
Prices for KA's Artisan on amazon fluctuate like gas prices, and also vary according to color...if you have time, add the color you crave (or a few if you're not picky) to your amazon wish list, then take 2 minutes to check in on different days 'til you see the price you want. Or you can take a gamble, buy it now, and then follow the price changes and apply their 30-day price guarantee. Either way, it pays to keep checking
