Video: Dr. Weil's Healthy Kitchen Line by Spring
International Home and Housewares Show 2008

2008_03_17_weil-rice-cooker-2.jpgDr. Andrew Weil's Healthy Kitchen line makes it easier to eat healthy in a small kitchen. Weil's Multi-Function Rice Cooker cooks rice, of course, and other healthy grains. It also works to steam vegetables and make beans.

Weil believes that food should not come in contact with the aluminum used in the cores of some cookware. That's why his Healthy Kitchen line has pour spouts that prevent food from coming in contact with aluminum.

Here's a quick video of Weil explaining why he created these products ...

ExpoTV interviewed Dr. Weil yesterday on the floor of this Home and Housewares Show here in Chicago:

Weil is committed to donating all of his after-tax profits from royalties from sales of the Weil by Spring collection to the Weil Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting integrative medicine.

These products have an elegant, modern look. We learned that the manufacturer Spring Switzerland is a division of Waterford Wedgwood, makers of high-end crystal and china.

We're planning to review some of Dr. Weil's line and will post a product review soon. Does anyone already own some pieces from this line?

I have the toaster. It makes perfect toast, but the slots are a little small. We have to trim the sides of our regular sandwich bread to fit it in. Still, it's great to have a toaster that works so well.

I guess I don't know why our food shouldn't come in contact with aluminum.
