You know you want it... The New York Times reported yesterday on an $85,000 stove installed in its profile of this year's Kips Bay Decorator Show House, a not-so-modest 1896 mansion at 4 East 75th Street. (Kips Bay: Buatta, Goatskin and an $85,000 Stove, April 20)
The stove, a custom-built Molteni (parent company: Electrolux) is a freestanding 4-by-8-foot red enamel oval with a chrome grill and induction cooktop that can boil a big pot of water in two minutes. Its magnetic elements turn cold as soon as they're turned off. The only problem is your good ol' All-Clad won't cut it; you need "ferrous" pans for the magnetic heat to work.
And we were complaining about the price tags on a Viking...
I sell a Molteni GF140 stove (bought in 2004 for 20000=25000$). The price for you is only 16000$.
I'm in Belgium. Do you are interesed?
Thank You
