To many cooking with a wok is an everyday occurrence, to others, it's a foreign affair. You may have caught the second to last episode of Top Chef where Kevin had to cook an authentic meal using a wok, when Padma asked if he frequently cooked with a wok and much to everyones surprise — he said it was his first time.Woks can be used for a plethora of things, they aren't strictly specific to certain regions of the world. We've used our wok for deep frying french fries and plantains to creating a delicious stir fry. Here are some of our favorite woks that we recommend:
• All-Clad Stir Fry Pan, $100 range it's a little on the pricey side but with a lifetime warranty and high quality steel, it'll be the only wok you'll be buying for quite some time!
• 14" Asian Wok, $46.62 seems to be the perfect size for creating a fantastic dish. The price tag and great review certainly help sell us on this option.
• 16 inch Iron Pow Wok, $23.95 is an extremely great value for such a large and well made wok. The wok is made from heavy duty steel to ensure even cooking as well as longevity of the item.
• Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen Carbon Steel 14-Inch Wok with Bamboo Handles, $24.99 is our favorite option because of the quality of the steel, the size as well as the price. Carbon steel is said to be the best material for wok's and the bamboo handles are extremely durable.
