The Thanksgiving Table in... Blue?

You wouldn't first imagine it, but as a complement to orange and gold, blue actually can come forth as a beautiful and very suitable color for the Thanksgiving table:

The silvery example above from Martha Stewart is set off with gold-painted mini pumpkins at each place setting. Real Simple takes a similar approach, pairing blue with a centerpiece of gilded fruit and a brown linen tablecloth.

Featured in Lonny, this predominantly orange table with bold blue accents was created by Eddie Ross. If you like this look, keep your eyes peeled for cobalt glassware at vintage shops and thrift stores. Once again, an example of blue working because of its beautiful relationship with oranges and golds!

Another direction in which you can use some blue? Traditional Blue-Willow-style dishware, as shown at a tabletop from iVillage.
