Every date night deserves some special treat to tie the whole thing together, and ice cream might just be the best one. First, it's the no-fuss option. Just pick up a pint at the grocery store on your way home from work or school and become a hero. Second, ice cream is objectively delicious and should satisfy everyone. Basically, it's a no-brainer.
What ice cream flavor to choose when you're at the grocery store, however, is a bit harder to figure out. But have no fear! Ben & Jerry's always has your back. I've matched up typical date nights you might have at home with just the right pint.
1. Movie Marathon
Watching movies (or TV shows) on a date is not terribly exciting, but I still love it so much. To make movie night feel less like a normal night and more like a date night, a couple extra special things are always nice. Fancy popcorn, a blanket, and a bowl of ice cream should be enough.
For movie nights, I think the best Ben & Jerry's pairing would be their Vanilla Caramel Fudge flavor. This flavor is one of the only Ben & Jerry's flavors that doesn't have a chunk of something in it — cookie, crunch, chocolate chunks, what have you. Therefore, I think this is the perfect blank slate to add a handful of movie popcorn to a couple scoops (or the whole pint).
2. Board Game Night
I'm a big proponent of board game night — especially when you're on a double date. I generally hate double dates, but board games somehow negate this fact. For these special nights, I'd recommend going with Cinnamon Buns ice cream. Cinnamon makes me feel alert and awake, which is perfect for game night.

3. Cheese & Wine in Bed
Cheese and wine in bed sounds pretty luxurious to me. You don't have to eat in bed (some people are weird about that), but like, go there if you're feeling it. Anyway, if listening to music and drinking good wine is more your date night style, then I'd recommend Phish Food ice cream from Ben & Jerry's to end your sweet, sweet night. You already had your wine and cheese, and now it's time for something chocolatey and super indulgent.

4. Cooking Together
Now, it wouldn't be a Kitchn article if I didn't mention some kind of cooking activity as a date option. I mean, cooking with your partner can be really fun, even if one (or both) of you is less experienced. I do this on a regular basis with my partner, and we just switch off who is "executive chef" and "sous chef" to mix things up.
You're putting effort into cooking a meal, so ice cream is an easy option for dessert. Whatever you decide to cook, I think Half-Baked from Ben & Jerry's is the way to go. It's the most popular Ben & Jerry's flavor of the last couple years, and kind of goes with anything.

There are times when a date should really just be about getting face time. Maybe you've both been super busy with other life obligations and just need to set aside some time to talk. Maybe you cook, maybe you just order a pizza and get a bottle of wine.
For these special date night circumstances, when you just really need to connect, I'd recommend trying the Milk & Cookies flavor. This is a vanilla ice cream mixed with cookies and chocolate chips. There's something super comforting about this flavor — just like, I don't know, talking to your partner.
