Looking to eat healthier? Your grocery store is ready to help you. Several major grocery chains — Hy-Vee,Wegmans, Giant Eagle, Meijer, and ShopRite — have started to employ either full- or part-time dietitians to help consumers make healthier choices. And other grocery stores might soon follow that lead.
While you might not be able to get a weekly consultation, the in-store dietitians can generally provide guidance for which kinds of foods to look for. They also frequently host classes or workshops highlighting good-for-you options.
And the upside for your grocery store? It might not increase their bottom line directly, but it does build consumer loyalty. And that's as good as gold.
