Over at our sister site, Apartment Therapy, you may have recently read about The Most Popular Color in the World. Turns out, the color is well-represented in the kitchen, too:
It's blue! Many have said that it's not the most complementary color for food, but we continue to find it used in kitchens for a fresh, vibrant look. We've combed the archives for blue kitchens past here at The Kitchn and found lots to share, from light and bright to deep and true. But we're not surprised... after all, we are talking about the most popular color in the world here:

Eh to blue. But I do love Louis Armstrong's kitchen.
I like picture 8 and 10 because they are still bright and warm. Otherwise, it feels too cold to me when I want my kitchen to be a warm food-happy place to be.
I would have though yellow...
I love blue in kitchens- but none of these photos really wow me-
well- maybe louis armstrong's kitchen- It's beautiful in a museum sort of way but not something I'd ever want to do
I would have thought yellow too. I grew up in kitchen that went from yellow to white and back again several times.
Tara and ebarrett3, I think you may be misunderstanding. They don't mean the most popular kitchen colour, they mean the most popular colour in general (blue), placed in the kitchen.
I could handle aqua, maybe, but don't care for dark blue anywhere in my kitchen.
I misunderstood that, too. (And I was also going to guess yellow.)
That's funny! I would never do my kitchen in blue... I guessed green.
Ooooh, okay. I just jumped straight to I-wanna-see-pics!!!
Heh - the same survey said that yellow is the least popular. And our kitchen is... blue and yellow.
Do we win a prize? :D
blue kitchen to me reeks of little cottage in the hills. it would be stocked with clashing colors of alls sorts.
I'm a black kitchen kinda person. Base of black and then bring colors in with accessories, wall hangings, cookbooks and appliances (though, my Kitchenaid is black...)
Granite/stone work surfaces. Timeless.
I also would have guessed yellow. I'm a fan of blue, but not for the kitchen. Our living room is blue and white.
