We're all about tiny things here at The Kitchn; we have Tiny Videos, and Tiny Projects, and Tiny Tips. Why? Sometimes it's better to do one bite-sized thing, than to get discouraged (or stalled out) by a huge project. So we love this idea from a food photographer: the world's tiniest cookbook, containing recipes for tiny food. How fun is that?
Catherine Murray (full disclosure: she's a friend!) is a food photographer who has similar ideas about tiny things. She says:
Our lives are made up of bite-sized moments. Bites make up a meal, 3 meals become a day, days become our lives. Food is the one thing we all have in common. Food is a shared experience, it’s how we celebrate. Food is life.
Besides, tiny is novel. Tiny is eco-friendly. Tiny things are just CUTER. In fact, this MIGHT be the smallest cookbook in the world. The Bite-Sized Book of Bite-Sized Recipes fits in the palm of your hand at just under 2 inches tall, with 20 fun, easy to make bite-sized recipes with cute & clever photography.
She's doing a Kickstarter right now to produce her teeny-tiny cookbook. It's just 1 3/4 inches tall and 1 1/2 inches wide, 52 pages long, and with about 20 recipes. It's so small you can wear it as a necklace. It's not just a small book, though; it has bright, whimsical photographs and recipes for 20 bite-sized foods.
Extremely cute, but with a big heart! Take a closer peek and maybe pick one up for yourself.
