If you're like me, when you travel there's usually a food destination or two on the list of things to see and do along your journey. But between those mega-meals I'm always looking for things to keep my tummy and incessant need-to-snack in check. My go-to snack for these moments is comprised of three parts, and it goes with me on every single road trip I take!
In a small cooler between the front seats of my vehicle you'll find individual zip top bags of:
- Cheese cubes
- Meat snacks, or possibly crackers
I find these three foods to be the best snack for between meals. They're easily accessible and reachable while driving or co-piloting, and hit all the major needs. Each item is snack size so there's no (or little!) guilt for repeat consumption, and you get the sugar, salty, protein-y goodness along with a little silky texture from the cheese. No one wants to be in the car with an upset tummy or the feeling of regret that usually follows fast food, and these snacks keep well and will always satisfy, even if your hotel is void of desirable food when you stop for the night.
