Q: I love to listen to podcasts while I cook. Any chance you could list some of the best food and entertaining podcasts you have come across? I want to branch out from The Splendid Table and KCRW's Good Food.

Straw Mat from The ...

Well, "Mike & Tom Eat Snacks" is food-related...
The Spilled Milk podcast (http://www.spilledmilkpodcast.com), which is hosted by Matthew Amster-Burton (Roots and Grubs blog) and Molly Wizenberg (Orangette blog), is one of my favorites. They mostly talk about food (there was one shampoo and toothpaste excursion) and cooking and it is really really funny.
I really like Mouth of Wonder (http://www.mouthofwonder.com/p/podcasts.html). Stacy Pearl is hilarious. It's based out of Santa Fe so she gives a lot of high altitude recipes.
I second Spilled Milk. I love their sense of humor combined with their knowledge and wit. You always step away thinking, "What just happened? Did I really just listen to ten minutes or so about scary food?" And yet, through all the jokes, they're informative, too. My only wish is to have MORE!
OMG, I can't believe someone beat me to recommending Mouth of Wonder!!! Facciata, are you in Santa Fe?
You can also sign up to get them directly from iTunes.
Spilled Milk and the Sporkful! The Sporkful guys are hilarious (their motto is "it's not for foodies, it's for eaters") and they get into all the eating-related minutiae that I never even realized I think about, like the two-part episode devoted to cereal-eating technique.
I don't always want to listen to food podcasts while cooking, so I also have Radio Lab, This American Life, The Moth, On Being, Slate and The Dinner Party Download in my queue.
Hands down, the Splendid Table.
The BBC's Food Programme is a nice podcast focusing more on food trends and issues than recipes.
It's not specifically about food, but I love the Joy the Baker Podcast - both women have a great sense of humor and are fun to listen to. Similarly, We're About to Be Friends (also by Joy the Baker), is fun and focuses more on food-related topics and people.
Cooking Issues is the most entertaining and informative food podcast I've ever heard.
Sporkful is a great podcast!
I listen to Jim Jefferies &Eddie Ifft Talk Shit. Not remotely food related, and its definitely not for the faint of heart but it is so funny.
If you're not listening to Mike and Tom Eat Snacks you're wasting your damn time.
I second the Joy The Baker podcast. It makes my travel to work a lot more fun.
I'll second (or third?) the recommendations for Spilled Milk and Joy the Baker. I also enjoy "Let's Get Real" and "the Food Seen"
I am so excited. I appreciate everyone's suggestions. This is my first jump into podcasts.
Perfect timing! I've been meaning to find some podcasts to listen to on the bus to work, now I have a whole bunch to start with!
Please check out Mystery Meet's Find Dining Podcast (which I host). It's "for foodies who love travel and travelers who love food." Each week, we talk to a food blogger from a different city about their local dining scene.
