We love seeing a kitchen take shape over the years. All too often we see homeowners getting caught up in needing one major remodel instead of taking things in steps during the duration of their home. We love a transformation that happens as the owner has time and money and that's exactly what happened here. See it before, during and after, or rather, what it looks like today!
We ran across this kitchen over at Saucy Dwellings and simply fell in love. User marydeluxe has spent the last 8 years transforming her kitchen. She's done it one bit at a time from painting the walls and cabinets to changing out the backsplash and lighting choices. It's a fun process to see how much of an impact just a few things can have in your space and can truly make it an inspiring and awesome place to cook.
So often we see kitchens that are completely gutted and torn down to the studs and it's quite refreshing to see one that has old bones and has been given new life!

Bacsac Bacsquare 04...

When are we going to move beyond stainless steel appliances? To me it just seems like cooking in a morgue. Ugh.
It looks like maybe those are the same appliances that were in the kitchen originally.
Indeed, the appliances haven't changed and the owner chose to spend her money renovating the space instead. Even if they aren't your taste, we think it was a smart move budget wise!
I love that all the cabinets needed were a good coat of paint. They are very charming.
I'd like to move beyond stainless steel, too, but I'm not a fan of the black or white that are available to average people with average budgets, either.
Can't say I have a problem with stainless steel appliances. I prefer them over the black and white that are commonly available.
This transformation is great! Its a total 180 from the original kitchen. Nicely done!
Also, good choice getting rid of the microwave... box... thing. The counter looks much nicer without it.
I adore this transformation and it really exudes a lot of personality.
