Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

Ina Garten's PB&J Bars are my absolute favorite!

The rhubarb custard cake looks wonderful, but I have never seen custard powder around here (pdx)!
omg I'm dying over that rhubarb cake but like breezyslp I'm at a loss for 'custard powder' -- does anyone know what that is? Or maybe a sub for it?
custard powder is most commonly seen as Bird's custard- it's a short, squat tin with a red top. you can find it at cost plus or most higher end grocery stores with an (British) import section.
As Amandica has pointed out, Bird's Custard Powder is a popular British brand of custard powder, but other brands can also be used in this recipe. I have included in my post an alternative to using custard powder, so hopefully this will help if you can't find custard powder where you are.
