Nestled just outside Burlington, Vermont — Susan and Ryan built their dream home based on memories of Ryan's grandparents' home. The home is their spin on a traditional farmhouse and we're loving every bit of it — right down to the modern meets home-on-the-range kitchen.
The couple was extremely hands-on during the building of their dream home. They knew they wanted to incorporate the look of a traditional farmhouse, but with modern materials. We love that they chose to keep the tradition of a farmhouse sink, but made of stainless steel.
Their nods to tradition can be seen in the open shelving, wicker baskets, farmhouse sink and traditional wide plank wood flooring. They've elevated those typically traditional elements through their use of stainless steel and modern black and white accent colors.
These are the builds we really enjoy seeing. Juxtaposition of old and new are often underrated and we love being able to share them in all of their glory when we see them done well.
