When did lunchboxes get so stylish? (I mean, I know you used to rock that Care Bears lunchbox back in the first grade, and yes, it is hard to top that.) But in case you thought your best lunchbox days were behind you, you should know that there are quite a few sturdy, stylish boxes designed for adults on the go. In celebration of Lunch Week here on The Kitchn, we're highlighting a few of our favorites. Today's pick? The Monbento. More

Whatever your potholder style, we think you'll like these whimsical handmade versions as much as we do! Red Stitch is the work of Ioana Weber, who hand-makes every potholder in her Etsy store. There are plenty of pretty patterns and colors to choose from — all unique and one-of-a-kind. (And with a sense of humor. Did you see the steak and eggs pair? We love that one!) More
Q: Today this question is from me! I am looking for a durable, roomy lunch bag that I can easily carry around school all day. I'd like something that keeps containers secure and folds flat when empty. Bonus points if it's good-looking. Any recommendations?
Dansk Kobenstyle Butter Warmer
• $39.95
• Crate and Barrel
We showed you all of the new colors this year for the reissued Dansk Kobenstyle cookware. I have to say, my favorite of all the Dansk cookware is the chubby little butter warmer, a tiny pot with a pouring spout. This kind of little pot is surprisingly useful for many things: making a small amount of roux or custard, heating soup for one, brewing tea or hot chocolate, warming milk for a child, and - yes - melting butter.
Thanks to concerns about tuna's high mercury levels and unsustainable fishing practices, the carefree days of eating lots of tuna fish sandwiches for lunch are over. But if you are missing the quick, tasty and economical meals canned tuna provides, we have a few excellent alternatives — including one vegetarian option.
MoreI've never met a cannoli that I didn't like. Or a panna cotta. Or a scoop of gelato. Let's just say that it would take a stronger person than myself to resist the lure of a fine Italian cake or pastry. Grace Massa Langlois is a lady after my own heart, and her dedication to all things sweet and good have led to this delightful cookbook of classic Italian desserts.

Good Grips Silicone Steamer from OXO
• $16.99
• OXO
I'm in the market for a new steamer basket (my old stainless steel collapsing basket was inexplicably lost in my recent move). I spotted this relatively new OXO model at the Housewares show this week and I really liked it. I'm not always drawn to silicone, but I like how it those long handles would stay cooler and be easily drawn up out of a hot pot without the aid of tongs. The whole basket also rolls up nice and tight for easy storage. A winner!
Q: I used to own a gadget that looked like half of an egg, red and made of plastic or silicone. You would put it in the pan when hard-boiling eggs and it would turn darker when the eggs were done. I let someone borrow it, and now it's disappeared. I would like to replace it, but I have no idea what it is called.

MoreA few of the prettiest things we saw at the Housewares show this year were from Montreal-based Urban Butik, which is one of the only North American distributors for small, independent Scandinavian design companies like Kähler, Oyoy, and Magisso. More
One of the fun things about the Housewares show is discovering kitchenware companies from around the world. This is a blessing and a curse, because while it's cool to see what's coming out of Europe, for example, it's also a bummer not to be able to buy it anywhere in the US. That's exactly how we felt about these thermal cook-and-store pieces from Italian brand Ater. More
Electric Kettle from KitchenAid's Pro Line Series
• $199.99
• Amazon.com
I'm something of an electric kettle connoisseur. I'm always looking for a kettle that is more accurate and heats faster. KitchenAid is introducing a potential heavy hitter this spring in their Pro Line Series. This kettle has rather retro styling, with a smoothly moving lever on the base that adjusts the temperature, and an analog dial that shows just how hot the water is. It's a big, hefty kettle with serious presence. The colors will include Candy Apple Red, Frosted Pearl White, Onyx Black, Silver Medallion and Sugar Pearl.
