We love how all the pieces come together in this stacking set. It includes non-slip mixing bowls, measuring cups and a juicer. They fit together just right for stacking in a small cupboard. How efficient.
These are designed by Morph, a design firm in the UK. They'll be available at London retailer Joseph Joseph in October. No word on USA availability yet; if we find anything out we'll let you know!

These are totally snazzy and colorful, and yet, all I can think is: "eeew! they're plastic! just think of all the scratches and discolorations and germs they'll have after a few months of use!"
I wish this set (or similar) came in a glass/metal combo, or all metal. I'd buy it for sure.
It is a great space saver. Love the colors. Like you said, ideal for a first timer.
I'm glad no one has inflicted that kind of horror on me. I do a ton of baking, so I have a nice set of stacking *steel* mixing bowls. Easily cleanable, holds up to heavy use, and looks good.
I've added a mesh colander/strainer and a steel "salad" bowl to the set, and it still stacks nicely. A good citrus reamer is about $3 (even from Sur La Table). Add in a Microplane grater, and a young cook is set up for endless batches of bread, cobbler, lemonade, pasta and pancakes. I should add a set of salad servers so the salad bowl stops being used for endless bread dough batches...
The problem with plastic is that it doesn't hold up to heavy use. It shows wear quickly, and that wear makes it hard to clean.
Glass or metal bowls are definitely the way to go. Plastic is good for giving to the kids to play in the bathtub with.
Its strange to me how you guys will do a post about getting plastics out of the kitchen and then do a post about plastic mixing bowls.
