Have you had Thai- and Vietnamese-style iced coffee? A combination of strong black coffee, sweetened condensed milk, and plenty of ice makes these drinks a refreshing change from your standard brew. From Girl Versus Dough, here's a frozen version topped with toasted coconut. What a treat!
Girl Versus Dough's frozen Thai/Vietnamese-inspired coffee is adapted from King Arthur Flour, whose recipe calls for putting the mixture through an ice cream maker for 10 minutes. For those of us without ice cream makers, it's nice to see her success in freezing the mixture in a shallow baking pan, instead (it took about four hours). I also love her added touch of coconut.
I'll be trying the recipe with a pinch of ground cardamom, which is often added to coffee in Thailand (and other parts of the world). It would be fun to try a frozen version of Thai iced tea, too!
