In the last few years we've seen hostess aprons show up everywhere. (We can probably thank Mad Men for that.) Unlike the utilitarian workhorse aprons you wear in the kitchen, hostess aprons are all color, pattern, and detailing. Don't get us wrong—we like a cook who isn't afraid to dirty up her apron, but if you're less keen about showing that to your guests, then these pretty, polished aprons are for you.

I actually just bought the Anthropologie one you have linked a few weeks ago. I LOVE it!
The color block one that is :)
All my pretty aprons have been purchased from Boojiboo: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Boojiboo
I have a black and white polka dot with red trim and a yellow and blue starburst. When you're wearing them it basically looks like a sundress. So cute!
These are Hostess aprons, made to protect your clothing and make you look good. I prefer cooks aprons, that have pockets, a place to hang a towel and that I don't have to worry about staining. Thanks for all the interesting articles.
Because only women cook and wear aprons...
