Summer Kitchen Project: Shell Spoons!

Pin it button big

Shell spoons are a lovely way to remember your summer days at the beach. They're not really suitable for eating — ragged edges make for dangerous soup slurping! — but they're beautiful as mini scoops for sugar, salt, tea, or dry herbs.

Want to make your own? Sweet Paul Magazine has a tutorial in its Summer 2013 issue. It's super easy: all you need are a few spoon-shaped shells, some wire, a pair of pliers, and a dremel, for making holes.

So keep an eye out for pearly, pastel shells the next time you walk on the beach! You could find your new sugar spoon.
