Just bought the C&B one, and you can't tell from online, but.... THERE ARE BUBBLES IN THE GLASS.
I'm desparate to have a sun tea pitcher again that's made out of glass, not plastic, so I just ponied up and bought this. Where was this list three days ago???

Another drink to put in it (if you are so inclined): kombucha. Let the SCOBY live in there, drink from the bottom.

You can buy a large glass gallon jar with a lid for about $15 at target, kmart, etc. Serve the drinks up with a stainless steel dipper.

Spigots get moldy and nasty. People don't clean them.

For anything beyond water, I agree with ohjodi, and I use glass gallon jars with dippers. (even water crock spigots need to be cleaned meticulously, as they are a source of contamination).

Restaurant supply stores usually have something like this at a much lower cost than elsewhere.

Last year I bought a glass one with spigot at the Christmas Tree Shop for less than $20. Can't remember I think it was $19.95 but it may have been $14.95. It does have to sit at the edge o a table or counter as the spigot is low and you cannot get the last of the liquid out without tipping it towards the spigot , but this seems to be a common affliction and I couldn't beat the price. However it is not a small space item, it eats up tons of counter, table or storage space, pretty but not sure it has any practicality.

I just bought two of the BPA-free plastic jugs for serving sangria at a picnic. The aesthetics are obviously not up to par with all the jugs listed here but I found them to be very functional and lightweight.
