I've always had a fascination with houseboats because they're the best of both worlds — land and water. The fact that someone can live in a perfectly comfortable home and
be on the water is almost too much for me to deal with (I'm talking about jealousy). To throw a beautiful kitchen in the mix — well, that's just pushing it!
This beautiful and simple houseboat kitchen was actually created using a very familiar source — IKEA! Sue had dumped so much money into having this houseboat dream come to life that when it came time to construct the kitchen, she knew she had to scale back financially a bit while not sacrificing style.
However, she didn't want to skimp at all on appliances. She found a German manufacturer, Liebherr that makes refrigerators to fit her needs. A great space saver are the butcher block countertops. Sure, they aren't the cheapest option but you don't have to worry about finding space to prep meals because well, your counter top is a giant cutting board!
