Will you soon be able to buy a Hair Bender K-Cup? Don't bet on it.
It was announced this week that the California-based coffee chain Peet's purchased one of the ultimate hipster coffee companies based out of Portland, Oregon: Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
But before you worry about your favorite beans and brews being co-opted by the larger chain, rest assured that Peet's won't be interfering with the company as it stands.
According to the press release, Stumptown will continue to operate independently, while having full access to Peet's resources and scale.
We're hoping that while this means we probably won't be seeing Stumptown in some of the more commercial settings (like K-Cups), we will be able to get a bottle of some of our favorite cold brew at more places across the country.
