Jack fruit!
unripe jackfruit
Yikes, that fruit reminds me of a nightmare I had once.
Jackfruit, we call it buah nangka in Indonesia!! Oh I miss 'em. But that looks unripe.
They're acquired taste. :)
Is there a version of the refrigerator bottle rack for refrigerators with glass shelves?
love ripe durian, creamy like ice cream
yes unripe jackfruit - love it when it's ripe such a great consistency and flavor!!! my grandpa had one in his front yard in Hawaii - i miss them too. Occasionally i find whole or cut peices at 99 Ranch Market -yummmmm.
Unripe Jackfruit..I haven't had jack fruit curry in the longest time.. Miss them...Don't like the ripe ones tho'.
JackFruit!! Love the Ripe ones which is like a Light Orange in color. Has got a nice fragance. Making them into Ice-cream is very tasty as well.
But getting the fruits out can be a little messy. After cutting it open, there is a 2nd layer of skin which is sticky white, kinda starchy and rubbery. Really hard to get them off your hands, Sometimes we use oil to rub our hands before trying to open up a Jackfruit.
I think unripe ones can be use for cooking curry.
Tarap - I think its related to the jackfruit family? The fruit pods are smaller than jackfruit
