spiral wine cellar under the kitchen floor (and who does!?) then where to store wine away from heat and light? Well, how about the living room?
This trunk from NapaStyle is designed to hold a case of wine plus cushions, magazines, CDs, and other things you like to keep on hand in the living room. We think you could probably dispense with those other items, though, and just stuff this with more wine. This trunk is not quite our preferred style of furniture, but the idea of storing wine in a multi-purpose trunk or box in the living room is a very good one. Living rooms tend to avoid the more extreme ends of heat or cold that are often found in pantries or basements, and a heavy trunk like this keeps light away from the bottles. It's not a long-term cellaring substitute for a good wine fridge, but it's a great place to keep a case of wine tucked away.
