Jenny sent us a smart, inexpensive kitchen project she did recently. She created some great storage in an otherwise useless and narrow corner of the kitchen. And all it took was a basket, and some hooks!
Jenny says:
This is a space saving and storage solution I came up with in a few hours. Just screwed in some hooks, and up went a ton of bulky barbeque utensils and oven mitts. Easy and quick. I also put our cookie sheets in a basket, and use tangerine boxes as spice racks. Job done at virtually no cost.
Great job, Jenny! We love it. Smart, cute, and cheap.

Bacsac Bacsquare 04...

I actually have great cabinet space in my rental kitchen right now, but I think I'll try this anyway! I hate the way cookie sheets stick together, tumble, crash and bang and you have to crouch on the floor to look inside the cabinet - pulling out an organized basket would be great! Thanks for the tip.
seems like they would get really dusty/dirty in a basket... but I am looking for a better way to store mine so I might give it a try.

At first my eyes weren't registering those images as two separate photos, and I thought it was a giant basket full of giant cookie sheets to the left of a miniature hutch. It took several blinks to click into reality. I was terrified.
I can think of so many uses for a basket like this. Any ideas on where to one?
*where to get one
This is a wonderful idea. So simple. Thanks for sharing!
Cool! I can usually think of creative ways to do something, but for the life of me, I would've never thought of doing that! Right now, I store all my baking stuff in the oven . . . which is a PITA whenever I do bake because I have to take everything out and leave it on the counter until I'm done baking and the oven's cooled down.
I will definitely put this idea to use!
i really like this...having the spices and pans available with a simple reach is the best. I would probably like a little more space between the basket and the floor: maybe placing it on a small wood footstool or hang from a wall hook.
Thanks everyone. I get all my baskets at home goods. In fact i think i have a bit of a basket problem! : ) I have sooo many. Good for kids toys as well. Winter hats and scarves. Summer outdoor toys. The list is endless. : )
