Vegetable Still Life Oil Paintings by Jane Cruickshank

We loved Faith's look at Camera in the Cupboard, photography that looks like paintings. Which brings us to these paintings that we at first mistook for photographs.

British artist Jane Cruickshank's still life oil paintings feature vegetables that are some of the real beauties of this season: garnly turnips and deep, dark plums to name a couple. They are painted in such painstaking detail here that they are even more realistic than reality.
