Let's kick the weekend off with something a little unexpected: savory French toast. All too often we reach for the maple syrup and cinnamon when we make this breakfast treat, but this weekend we're going the feta and thyme route.
If you've got some stale bread you need to use up, this is the perfect opportunity. Slice up the bread and dunk each slice into the savory custard mixture — milk, eggs, fresh thyme, pepper, and feta cheese. Once the slices are sufficiently soaked, pan-fry them on a hot griddle until golden-brown. Serve hot with some extra crumbled feta and fresh thyme.
