The achievement of a highly organized spice pantry is thrilling. But once you've washed and refilled those bottles a few times, it can begin to look a little bedraggled. Stickers peel, and handwritten labels get smudged. Well, you can preserve that pristine look of a freshly-organized spice cupboard with these simple stickers. They are dishwasher-safe, and stain-proof too!
Emily Press has been busy making lots of labels for all sorts of things, but most importantly, these spice labels. They come in three different color options and include lists of 55 popular spices. Since they know many of us have a few specialty spices in our pantry, they also allow you to customize 5 spices when you order.
Our favorite part about these labels is that they're actually meant to be used. Quite often spice containers take a beating as they sit out on your counter while you cook, get splattered with grease and other foodstuffs. These have a protective coating over them that keeps stains and water our and label-y goodness in!

turmeric is mis-spelled...
Hmmm... tumeric is a variant spelling of turmeric but after checking turmeric is more widely used. Will be updating it! Thanks DCarl1!
Those are very cute. I actually bought some spice jars yesterday that I've been needing for months! I had my spices still in their little ziploc baggies. After putting each spice in their new home, I thought about making my own labels, and then, eureka! I just wrote the name of each spice on the jar itself with a Sharpie. Looks perfect and if I need to take it off, I can just wipe with alcohol. Voila!
Wow - cool, EmilyPress - thanks!
I've never thought to wash a spice jar. Do people really do this?
I wash mine when the exterior gets gunked up with kitchen splashes. I've used removable labels for those ones, but this seems like a much prettier idea.
I've washed spice jars when I am going to switch what is stored in it. I don't really want my cumin mixed with the bay leaves that used to be stored in that jar
I have way more spices labeled than 55 +5 randoms...there's no set of stickers that'll work for someone who hordes spices as I'm sure many of us do. And 20+ bucks for a few stickers seems a bit high for what we're talking about.
I print mine then apply with a cut strip of box tape. Waterproof and customized to my needs.
Between this and the apartment-therapy "return tools that are labeled" post I have to wonder, is this some kind of paid advertisement disguised as a post? That said, aren't spice jars *already* labeled? mine have screenprinted names on the lids, but i imagine that putting a piece of paper + sharpie covered with packing tape would yield a much cheaper alternative...
