This just looks like normal, albeit small, kitchen island, right? Wrong. Read on to see how this kitchen worktop can fit in even the smallest kitchen.
We don't have a kitchen island, but we wish we did. We like to be at least partially surrounded by workspace, and even a small island is helpful. It's especially nice during the holidays or parties, when an extra workstation makes multiple dishes (and extra hands) easier to manage.
But we just don't have space for an island in our pass-through kitchen. So, this folding island really caught our attention! It folds up when not in use; you can bring it out for weekend cooking and fold it away for weekday busyness. Or store it away for holidays, or leave it up all the time except when you have a cocktail party and need a little extra space in the kitchen. It folds up small enough to be tucked between cupboards or slid under a bed. We think this has real potential!

I would buy this in a heartbeat if only it were under $100. Good for tiny kitchen, bad for tiny budget. The tiny kitchen and tiny budget often go hand in hand.
Hear hear, Plaid Ninja.
Plaid Ninja if you can deal with one that doesn't fold up, IKEA has some great options, we bought one this summer that is the same basic set-up, a little larger, it just doesn't fold up, I think it was $60 or $70. We have a couple of these in our dining room that hold pans, plates, bowls, placemats, napkins, etc. etc. and hopefully soon herbs.
QVC also has a version of the one shown that they probably offer on easy-pay, where you make monthly payments on it, if you REALLY want it badly!
Actually, here is the QVC one, it's $145 and does have a 3 easy pay option: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K5649.desc.Folding-Island-Natural-Finish-Kitchen-Cart-w-ButcherBlockTop
bobcatsteph3, it was good of you to bring up other options, but I think the ability to fold up was the whole point.
Price is now $149.99.
Love this! We have an a butcher block island that we used in a previous home (almost 8 yrs ago!) but we just don't have the room in our galley kitchen. I refuse to get rid of it so it sits in our garage-unused for over 8 yrs. UGH!
I went to the website and it states this item is no longer available?!?!?! Not nice to tease AT!

Why or why did they discontinue that? The same company, Oasis Concepts, has some other similar pieces that look nice, but this one would have been the perfect size for my kitchen.
