Soup of the Day: Spiced Apple Cider Soup with Sweet Potato Dumplings, Quince, and Dates

We've talked about our ambivalence towards fruit soups, but this is one that may make us give sweet soups a chance. Just look at all the good things here: apple cider (we love it), sweet potatoes (yes!), dumplings (oh yes!), and quince (our current fruit crush). How can it go wrong? Well, OK, it's awfully complicated, and we wonder if we will ever actually make it. But we'd love to try at least one or two elements; those sweet potato dumplings look amazing.
