Is this the California version of deep-fried Twinkies? Rachael in Los Angeles breaded and fried creamy avocados then served them filled with a sweet, spicy fruit salsa of chopped papaya, kiwi and jalapeno. Decadent yet totally fresh, we think this could be the perfect party food this spring.
Here's the recipe: Fried Avocados with Fruit Salsa.

I just looked at the recipe, sounds so yummy!!!
I made a version of avocado "fries" using panko as well - they came out delicious. We served them over mixed greens, but the fruit salad sounds wonderful.
well, i guess it's slightly better for you than fried mozz, huh?
sounds delicious. i don't dare try it. :)
I grew up with a giant Hass avocado in the front yard, so I've had them fixed in any way you can imagine. Have never liked them cooked in any form, so this doesn't sound good to me!
The absolute best way to eat an avocado is with a spoon, with or without salsa in the 'hole.'
