When contemporary styling and antique richness meet, something special happens. That goes for any room of the house, and the kitchen is no exception. While many of us may want to keep our kitchens up-to-date when it comes to appliances and materials, they can always be accessorized and furnished with an antique mix:
Whether it's artwork, an old wooden farmhouse table, or the architectural features of the space, mixing antiques with crisp, cool new kitchens can serve as a reminder of the past. It can be wonderful to surround yourself with the familiar and the well-used, even if you're a modernist at heart.

Floral Drink Dispen...

I want that brick/tile/whatever floor.
I love the look of mixing old and vintage with new and modern. I think it gives a space lots of personality and quirkiness and keeps things from being too stuffy or sterile. Fits me to a 't.' :)
I have always loved the idea of the old kitchen to which "modern" touches have been added over time, in the way that farm families did for generations. You end up with antique things, retro things and up-to-date things all coexisting beautifully together. The first kitchen shown is especially beautiful and I would love to see more of all of them.
I love this look & am trying to incoporate it into my kitchen. I started by aquiring my Great-Grandmother's Hoosier Cabinent. It looks nice mixed in w/ all the modern things in my kitchen.
That first kitchen is just darling.
I want that red refrigerator. Pronto!
