Red-and-Pink-Stripe...

I love these light brioche buns from Comme Ca via the NY Times: http://nyti.ms/1kD0Zx. My (somewhat misshapen) take on them: http://bit.ly/Nt8RY8.
I love making buns (and other kinds of bread) for my homemade burgers. It's a nice feeling when the whole meal is from scratch.
I made grillable vegan beet burgers, and grillable flatbread to go with them.
And semolina buns to go with burgers made from black quinoa.
And sweet potato buns seasoned with smoked paprika and cardamom to go with spicy black bean burgers.
I simply cannot wait for the heat wave in So Cal to let up so I can start baking again. I miss my freshly baked bread!
