Bending, cracking and pounding a plastic ice cube tray on the counter to get the ice cubes out is seriously annoying and needs to be put to bed but unfortunately I'm still dealing with it. Silicone ice cube trays are a terrific alternative to the old fashioned ones many of us are still finding in our freezers.

The ice cube trays from Muji are 100% Silicone. It's the perfect material to easily make and retrieve ice cubes without making a huge mess or getting seriously frustrated. The trays are dishwasher safe, stackable, freezer safe and microwave safe so you're not stuck using them strictly for ice cubes. Use them for jello molds, mini popsicles or well, the possibilities are endless!
Due to the fact that they can be used to make different items, the shapes Muji offers are really important and fun! Make diamond shaped chocolate pieces or fill your glass with ampersand ice cubes — these trays are perfect for adding that extra special touch while entertaining.

gotta say, i first encountered a silicon ice cube tray at my uncles house and could not for the LIFE of me get the things out. turns out you have to push your thumb in exactly the right spot to get the cube out, but if you overfilled it even a little bit it was solidly frozen together.
sorry to be a downer, but that's my two cents
I've struggled to get the ice out of them as well.
I bought some of these at ikea and now I dont even know where they are. I switched back to the classic ones because they stack better. i never thought the classic ones were that hard, if they weren't coming out you just need to run a bit of hot water on the bottom and your ice is free. they also stack neater.
The Rubbermaid Easy-Release Ice Cube Trays sell for a couple bucks a piece at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure if it's the shape of the compartments, the quality of plastic or what, but they work far better than any other plastic (or silicone) tray that I've tried. One simple twist and they all pop loose.
I like to use them as molds in crafting. Right now, I have a mold of lips I got a decade ago that I'm using for wax molds to make glass tiles.
I love the Ikea silicone ice cube trays. I know that the old fashioned ones are more practical, but who doesn't want little ice fish in their drinks? Or stars... or hearts... or any other crazy shape I managed to pick up for £1!
I have a lot of silicone ice cube trays.. I though I love it, but only because of the shape they gave me. But I have to admit that I hate to take them from the tap water to the freezer, I always spill half of it.
I also think the are hare to stack.
I just found old fashion one (in aluminium?) in a garage sale.. Love them! Love the color, love the size of the ice, and plus, they are so easy to remove with the handle.
