I love citrus, but it's really a winter fruit, so unless you live in places like California where you can have them pretty much year-round, it's not exactly a "perfect summer salad mix-in". That is, if you want to eat seasonal fruit at their peak of ripeness.
@JANET BRANDT, yeah, I live in Chicago and I really only see blood oranges and Meyer lemons available during the winter and spring.
