Sibylle Roessler of the design blog Funkytime is not afraid of a little DIY. The kitchen in her former 680-square-foot Montreal apartment (she now lives in Spain) is a lesson in repurposing flea-market finds, which she calls "terribly charming."
Details to look out for: a chalkboard paint fridge, a vintage meat grinder turned flower pot, a vintage pulley chandelier, and—my favorite—a twig wall holder for the rolling pin!

Floral Drink Dispen...

I love the chalkboard details (although I couldn't handle a whole fridge, since chalkboard sends chills down my spine). I love seeing how people revamp their boring refrigerators. I also really really really like the breakfast nook since I am love anyplace with a tiny table that isn't meat for dinner :)
I think the chandelier looks better than the reclaimed wooden rod and bare red wire one from a week or so ago, and this one was DIY! If she wants to sell it I'd put it up against the the other one any day!
I was puzzled by the comments that the owner of this charming kitchen "isn't afraid of color".... Excuse me? I see white and more white with only minimal spots of color as accents. I don't think that qualifies as "isn't afraid of color" although she might not be, it isn't demonstrated here.
I love everything about this kitchen. It is always so inspiring to see people revamp their kitchens on such a modest budget.
@ NIONON: it says "not afraid of a little DIY" ;-)
