I'm a big fan of the "British kitchen look" — you know, Brown Betty teapots and white china pudding bowls — so when I discovered Pacific Merchants, I bookmarked them right away. Based out of Los Angeles, they import mixing bowls and tea sets from UK companies Mason Cash and Price & Kensington. They're also a major importer of Acaciaware from the Philippines. They supply the wholesale and hospitality business, but they also sell directly to retail customers through their webshop. It's a good source to check for gifts — in addition to porcelain and wood servingware, they stock a nice selection of place mats, wine accessories, and even dog bowls. Average prices run between $5 and $50, and they have a warehouse sale section for items on clearance.
