Adoption, of the olive tree variety, is simple and rewarding. Pick your tree (or let Nudo do it for you) and pay the fee. For less than what it costs for some exclusive oils we've seen out there, Nudo sends you 3 packages: a nifty adoption certificate and details of your new, delicious baby; a harvest shipment with an average of 2 liters of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil; and a spring shipment with flavored oils ranging from chili to mandarin. If you're the hands-on type, Nudo invites you to come to the grove and visit your tree any time. Not ready to be an olive tree parent? You can still order the delicious bounty from the grove via their store, including not only olive oil but condiments, spreads, pasta, and gift adoptions for foodie friends that will love you forever.

Store History
- Founded: 2005
- Founded by: Jason Gibb and Cathy Rogers
- Headquarters: La Marche, Italy
Jason Gibb and Cathy Rogers set up Nudo in 2005 after buying and restoring an abandoned 21 acre olive grove in Italy's Le Marche. Their love of the Italian countryside inspired their now famous Adopt an olive tree programme which allows people all over the world to adopt an Italian olive tree and receive its oil. A love of simple natural food is the starting point for all Nudo products. They are all made from 100% natural, high quality, locally sourced ingredients.

"We say your tree but we actually collect your tree’s harvest with about 50 of its neighbours – to give us enough olives to press in one go. Think of it as being about the society rather than the individual."
Figured as much, but still kind of a bummer. Not that it matters really. Interesting idea.
At least you are sure to get Italian olive oil. Most "Italian" oil that you can buy in Europe is actually from Spain or North Africa and has been bottled in Italy.
I had a really bad experience with this company and their customer service. Just FYI. Huge delays and very nonresponsive.
