Ever taste something you just couldn't wait to share? That's the idea behind Foodzie's Tasting Box: every month, a new package of delectable samples from independent food businesses arrive, just waiting to be discovered and devoured.

Foodzie is an curated marketplace of tasty treats. Searching by region, category, or brand, you can find and purchase directly from small, independent food producers. Photos and reviews only go so far, so last year, Foodzie started a monthly Tasting Box, putting together sample sized products from their artisans and delivering it to your door. Anything could appear in the box: kumquat fruit leather, plantain chips, green tea cupcakes, sumac sea salt. It makes a fabulous gift for the foodie on your list or a little present for yourself each month. You quickly wonder how you ever lived without horseradish dill mustard or pumpkin spice caramels.

Foodzie is an online marketplace where you can discover and buy food directly from small passionate food producers and growers. We are a part of a bigger mission, to help change the way people eat. Our small piece of that mission is to help the small food producers across the country find customers and grow their business. We believe that instead of a small number of large food companies there should be a large number of small food companies. We're a bit obsessed with good food and passionate about connecting those that like to eat it with the people that make it. Learn more about our team.

I get the tasting box, and it's a lovely treat every month - the sample size items are typically large enough to really enjoy/try the product and often at least one of the items will be a full-size product.
I'm not sure if I would call this a budget gift though? I got in on the box in the first month, so I pay $15/month, but I believe the going rate for new subscriptions is $20/month. If you're getting someone a subscription for any number of months, that will add up super quickly. For more budget-oriented folks, I'd suggest selecting a few local foodie items from wherever you live and packaging them up yourself. This way it's clearly a one-time gift and not a subscription where you pay every month (plus, there's no pressure on the gift recipient to purchase the full-size item, you're already giving it to them).
The current subscription is actually $29.95 a month - for samples!?!? The subscription for gifting the box starts at 3 months, that is $89.85. I wold have signed up at the $15/month price that cupcakemuffin got, but not for double that.
I recognize the Marshall's honey from the pic!
