Art in the kitchen should inspire you to cook. The homegrown style of Anek's prints depict simply prepared meals made with beautiful ingredients. Who doesn't want more of that?
Anek's work is popping up around the blogosphere, and rightly so. Her style is unique, yet accessible. By creating mostly line drawings of olive oil, teapots, greens, and such, she evokes the small pleasures of the kitchen. One print bears the idiom, "La cucina piccola fa la casa grande" — "A little kitchen makes a large home." Anek often includes Italian phrases, and like the cuisine, her art is unfussy. And to that, I say buon appetito.
