Hopslam Ale from Bell's Beer

Hopslam is a seasonal beer from Michigan brewery Bell's Beer, and it's always terribly popular during its very short release season. (Good luck finding it - our grocery store sold out in 24 hours.) If you love hops this is your beer. It's incredibly citrus-focused, with the intense juiciness of grapefruit, the herbal aromas of hops, and a tingling bitterness finished with sweet honey. Via Bell's description: "Starting with six different hop varietals added to the brew kettle & culminating with a massive dry-hop addition of Simcoe hops, Bell's Hopslam Ale possesses the most complex hopping schedule in the Bell's repertoire." If you're into IPAs and hoppy beers, this is a great winter treat.

We got a pack last night. It's always interesting to see how it changes year to year. This year's batch beats its predecessor for sure!
Picked up a case of it last week. One of my favourite beers.
Soo good. It's like their Two Hearted on steroids. Very floral too, I think. Be careful though - it's POTENT.
SUCH a good beer. I love how they add honey to balance the bitter hops. If you like a grapefruity, big ipa then this is your beer. But definitely hard to find. People in Cincinnati lost their minds over Hopslam this year: http://lovebeerlovefood.com/beer-diary-i-survived-hopslam-mania-2013/
Also, I recently discovered Fat Head Breweries Head Hunter IPA is a great subistitute (I think) if you like Bell's Hopslam but can't find it. They distribute in Ohio and W. PA apparently.
