- What makes your small kitchen so cool?
- It's easy to use and even easier to clean.
- Describe a challenge you've overcome or a smart resource you've found for your kitchen.
- Eliminating cookie cutter 'blah' (see 'before' shot) and increasing storage. we added the ikea staples for our utensils. We hung bookshelves, built a pan rack and stuck up a pin board (in the niche beside the fridge so it doesn't look messy from the living area). We've utilised every square centimetre of our limited cupboards; i'm not sure if the space above the cooker was intended to be a spice rack, but they fit just perfect up there! we also took advantage of the height of our ceilings to add some much needed colour and art... I accept that this is not an impressive, gut-it-all renovation, but i hope you'll agree that our dull kitchen at least has some personality now!
- What's your favorite meal to cook here?
- I'm not the cook in our household, but i love to bake... especially if i get to use my favourite piece of kit (the highly efficient and awesome alessi lemon squeezer!). I included some baking pics because frankly there isn't much to take photos of in my small kitchen :0)

i should point out that i can't do sums... and my kitchen is actually 75 square feet! oops!!
It doesn't matter—it's great.
Finally something to look at! <3 this.
This kitchen is totllay inspired!!.........practical, artful and uplifting!!
Love the colors.
I love the use of color, and all the clean, modern lines!
thanks for the lovely comments! i had braced myself for a more mixed reaction to my 'lively' kitchen given the other entries in the competition, but i'm glad the colour seems to have gone down well. the green is the most amazIng colour, going from olive to chartreuse to apple as the light changes through the day. enjoy the rest of the competition everyone! :0)
Feels loungie to me; like I need a martini to be in this kitchen. Wonderfully done. You've got my vote.
nice and colourful shel shel!!
It's nice to see the "before" (or "move in") picture to see just how much life and personality you've put into the kitchen. Fantastic job!
Love! Those are the colors I have in my kitchen, based on a couple of favorite pieces. I am always looking for inspiration, and this is definitely providing some.
Great kitchen. Vibrant and alive. Full of character. An artist at work!
Art in the kitchen - now that's what I call a feast!

Fantastic! Full of colour and I love how you utilised the space so well.

thank you for all the wonderful comments and, of corse, your votes everyone!! :0)
I love your kitchen too, Shel! That green is just so lively! And I would never have thought to pair it with red, I would have been afraid it would have been to Christmas-y... but it really works! I love your lamp too!
well Christmas is my favourite time of year ;0)... the lamp is the 'take' lamp from kartell.
